承蒙各位會員的信任與支持，當選國際外科醫師學會理事長，我由衷感謝，也深感責任在肩。國際外科醫師學會自 Max Thorek 博士創會以來，始終以促進全球外科醫師交流、合作與服務人群為核心使命。能與來自世界各地的外科同道攜手同行，是我最大的榮幸。

七十多年來，學會在全球一百多個國家建立起深厚的專業連結與真摯友誼，跨越語言、文化、宗教與國界，形成非洲、亞洲、歐洲、拉丁美洲、北美洲與太平洋六大聯邦所構成的國際大家庭。這份多元與包容，是國際外科醫師學會最珍貴的力量，而這份力量，來自每一位願意參與、願意付出的會員。

​

外科醫學正快速邁入嶄新的時代。人工智慧、機器人手術、大數據、AR／VR、再生醫療等創新技術，正在改變我們診斷與治療疾病的方式。我誠摯邀請各位會員，積極參與學會的學術活動、跨國交流與專業討論，分享您的經驗與觀點，讓學會成為激盪創意、共同成長的重要平台。

國際外科醫師學會一向重視人道關懷與社會責任。多年來，來自各地會員的熱心參與，讓義診與醫療服務得以深入不同角落，回應真實的醫療需求。未來，我期盼更多會員主動加入這些行列，無論是親身參與義診、投入公共衛生教育，或以專業知識支持年輕外科醫師的成長，您的每一份參與，都是學會持續前行的重要力量。

展望未來，學會將秉持中立、開放與合作的精神，持續與世界衛生組織及國際夥伴攜手，推動全球外科發展。我也誠摯邀請各位會員，透過委員會與專案計畫，更積極地參與學會事務，一同形塑國際外科醫師學會的未來方向。

It is with deep gratitude and humility that I accept the responsibility of serving as President of the International College of Surgeons. I sincerely thank all members for your trust and support. Since its founding by Dr. Max Thorek, the College has been dedicated to promoting global collaboration among surgeons, advancing surgical knowledge, and serving humanity. It is a great honor to work alongside colleagues from around the world in pursuit of this shared mission.

Over the past seventy years, the International College of Surgeons has built strong professional bonds and lasting friendships across more than 100 countries, transcending language, culture, religion, and national boundaries. Through our six federations—Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America, and the Pacific—we have formed a truly global family. This diversity and inclusiveness are among our greatest strengths, and they exist because of the active engagement and dedication of our members.

​

Surgery is entering a transformative era. Advances in artificial intelligence, robotic surgery, big data, AR/VR, and regenerative medicine are rapidly reshaping the way we diagnose and treat disease. I warmly invite all members to take an active role in the College’s scientific meetings, international exchanges, and professional discussions. By sharing your experience, insights, and innovations, you help make the College a vibrant platform for learning, collaboration, and mutual growth.

The International College of Surgeons has always placed great importance on humanitarian service and social responsibility. Over the years, the enthusiastic participation of our members has enabled medical missions and outreach programs to reach communities with real and urgent healthcare needs. Moving forward, I encourage even more members to join these efforts—whether through direct participation in charitable medical services, involvement in public health education, or mentorship of younger surgeons. Every contribution, large or small, strengthens our collective impact.

Looking ahead, the College will continue to uphold its principles of neutrality, openness, and cooperation, while maintaining close collaboration with the World Health Organization and our international partners. I sincerely invite you to become more actively involved in the College’s committees and special projects, and to help shape the future direction of the International College of Surgeons together.

​

In this new era filled with both challenges and opportunities, let us move forward hand in hand—using our professional skills to protect lives and our collective actions to connect the world. I look forward to meeting, learning from, and working with you through the College’s many activities. Thank you for your continued commitment and support.
